This vintage jewelry set features Flowering Obsidian stones. There are large stones and have a very distinctive pattern and color. The background is pure black with a grey splatter pattern. Flowering Obsidian (also called snowflake obsidian) is a volcanic glass that is usually dark (black or brownish) with white "snow flakes". This glassy, lustrous mineral is found in lava flows, and obsidian stones can be massive. Obsidian is formed when viscous lava (from volcanos) cools rapidly. The parure is in a gold tone setting. The necklace is 18" long. The multi-stone pendant is 2 1/4" wide x 3 3/4" long. The earrings are for pierced ears and 2" long. The brooch is a knock out and features 4 round chatons. The brooch is 2 1/4" wide. Very Good.
